Here's a track from a 7 inch picture disc, from a series of 7 inches propelled and affected, by artist David Horvitz. Click here for more information on forthcoming 7 inches in this series from bands like No Age and Abe Vigoda. This is side B in Sunset Rubdown's 7 inch titled "Introducing Moonface". Here's a song titled "Insane Love is Awakening". There is something so nice about hearing the vinyl crackling.

So, the bratty, blogger product of John & Cindy McCain, Meghan McCain is trying to prove to everyone that she's not a narrow minded Republican. She even likes 'punk rock', and things you and me would like. Here's an excerpt from her blog, detailing how she would like suggestions about her next tattoo, to commemorate her time on the road, campaigning with America's Grumpy Old Man:
"I am still trying to figure out what tattoo I should get to commemorate my time on the trail. I feel like I am finally ready to commit to some new ink. So far "McCain" in gothic letters on the back of my neck is winning my unofficial survey. Please write in with any suggestions and I will take pics when I finally chose an artist to ink me up!" Feel free to post here if you have any suggestions...I have a few, but they seem too long to fit onto her self proclaimed 'plus size' neck.
Suggestions can be sent HERE. You can also check out her blog HERE, which details her love of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Damned, Trail of Dead, and The Constantines. I wonder what said bands would really think if they knew that this spawn of impotent privilege and conservatism was such a huge fan? Oh wait, didn't I learn anything from the election? Can't say anything bad about them because they have Jesus on their side, and John McCain was in a prison camp.
On a musical note, Foreign Born will be releasing "Person to Person" on June 23rd, available for pre-order on Insound, here. Their complex pop sensibilities have deservedly earned the band opening spots for Grizzly Bear. Check out the video for "Blood Oranges" below. Given this album propels this band to the heights they deserve, Meghan McCain could possibly love it too!
Here's a track from The Crystal Method's "Divided By The Night" album, which will be released next Tuesday, via Tiny e Records. Several guests appear on the album, including Peter Hook, Matisyahu, and Metric's Emily Haines. The album can be preordered HERE. A Crystal Method side note, in my younger days, while staying at the Hotel Monaco in SF, The Crystal Method popped into my impromptu Hotel Suite party to see what the commotion was? Pretty soon, they were the commotion.

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this wonderful, and heartbreaking documentary about Arthur "Killer" Kane, do so and get more info HERE. It covers the perils and ego of rock n' roll fame, and it's fallout. The New York Dolls have released a new studio album, titled "Cause I Sez So", available for order HERE. On the album, a re-worked version of "Trash". The New York Dolls are also on tour in support of this new record, and will be in Los Angeles on May 21st. Complete tour dates available HERE. Wash your hands. Cover your mouths when you cough. Incredibly basic things that anyone who was raised with manners or common decency should have been told when they were a small child, but seemingly not taught, possibly forgotten by people today. These steps are now our starting point from further preventing the outbreak of Swine Flu into our general population? Reminds me of the this previous health scare and steps taken to combat it, as seen HERE. The Purell people must be loving every second of this. Silver lining? For those of you dodging or avoiding anyone, you just got a socially relevant excuse to avoid contact. "Cumbia" by Mexican Institute of Sound
Getting much hype and free advertising from Silversun Pickups frontman Brian Auber, sporting a Viva Voce shirt during much of the "Carnavas" junket, Viva Voce is set to release "Rose City" on May 26th, and can be preordered through Amazon, here, courtesy of Barsuk Records. From the first listen of "Rose City", it seems the band has fine tuned their chops, and are ready for big things on their own, following supporting tours for The Shins and Jimmy Eat World. Check out "Midnight Sun" below.
