Which one's Destiny?

I'm gonna have to go against my usual philosophy, and say that I like this cover more than the original.

Hell At Night

For fans of The Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., or Kings of Leon, I present Hell At Night. They've been getting some spin time at Little Radio, and rightfully so. Hell at Night features twin brothers Dan and Nart Chejoka. Check out "Feast Your Eyes" from their 2007 release "Battles of The Spirit". Also, visit their MySpace page here, or official site here.

Fever Ray

This is vocalist Karin Dreijer Andersson's, of The Knife, side project. Listening to it kind of reminds me when my big sister would play Kate Bush when I was a kid. Check out "Now's The Only Time I Know", below. The self titled album shows a March 24th release date, and a preorder of a 7" is available at Insound, here. Visit Fever Ray website here.

More from way back when.

Here's a Jimmy Eat World track off a compilation called "The First Crush Compilation". This one is sung by Tom Linton, not Jim Adkins. It definitely sounds a bit dated, but this is definitely one that's hard to find.

The Dwellas

This track was unearthed in going through my collection. "The Last Shall Be First", originally released in 2000, is out of print, and going on Amazon and Ebay for upwards of $80 to $100, originally put out by Loud Records. Check out a track below.

Matt & Kim in L.A.

Matt & Kim will be playing the Troubadour in L.A. tomorrow night, in support of their new album 'Grand'. Should be packed, as it's now sold out, and lots of hand-clapping fun. A review of the show to come on Thursday. Check out a track from the new record below.

Sorry Doesn't Help.

When I was a little kid, I used to watch Morrissey concert videos, and wonder why the hell his entire audience insisted upon jumping onstage and hugging him in the middle of songs? I still do. I kind of stopped listening to his records after "Your Arsenal" came out, which I still love to this day. Here's one of his forthcoming record, "Years of Refusal", out on Februarty 17th. Preorder through Insound here.

March of The Zapotec

What a very interesting listen. I've been listening to Beirut's 'March of The Zapotec/Realpeople Holland' EP all morning. The first half, is a wonderful trip through the baroque sounds Beirut has mastered so well. The second release considered 'Realpeople Holland' seems as if this wonderfully talented collection of musicians traveled through space and time to make use of modern technology. Check out 'The Shrew' below.
